Met with Opposition
Met with Opposition
We arrived at 27th Avenue and Indian School last night at 6pm as planned. We began taking our signs out and waiting for others to join us. As soon as the signs came out a man and woman walked over to us and began warning us that "Someone will shoot you if you walk down that street, and you don't want to do this. You don't understand how dangerous these streets are. I'm telling you this isnt what you want." It's so cool, after having a lengthy and informative conversation with our tour guide and basically informing him we'd be marching anyway. I gave him my card and asked him to call me the next day so we could talk about helping him now that he's released from prison and doesn't know what to do next. He contacted me 5 minutes ago with a text. He wants to meet and receive resources to help him get his life on track.
